Vote for Love

Poem for the Only Vote that Counts

Vote, vote they all say
it is their battle cry
We must put into to office those
who don’t abuse and lie

And then they post their viewpoint
attack that’s called debate
their passion for their candidates
justifies their hate

Friendships become strained
Families start to feud
If unity is what we want,
does this not seem skewed?

At the risk of causing horror
I just can’t but inquire
Does it really matter
The people that we hire

Here’s a little fact
we seem to just guffaw
We are all connected
As one’s hurt, so are all

You’d think with all that’s happened
this monumental year
We’d finally learn our lesson
and wake up from our fear

No matter who you cast for
or if you vote or not
release that tired story
and give another thought

These parties will not save us
neigh elected lady or man
It never was our birthright
to have this kind of plan

It’s time to stop believing
outside’s where power lies
To wake up to the hidden truth
So each one of us can rise

So before you put your dukes up
and think to push and shove
try raising your vibration
forever vote for love
